About

About Me

Hi, I’m Ashley—a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and play therapist, dedicated to supporting children, teens, and adults through meaningful and compassionate care. With over 20 years of experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and a certification in play therapy, I bring a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based lens to every session.

Whether I’m sitting on the floor with a child using play to explore big feelings, supporting a teen navigating identity and relationships, or helping an adult process anxiety, trauma, or life transitions—I tailor therapy to meet you where you are.

My approach is grounded in empathy, creativity, and evidence-based practices. I believe that healing and growth happen in safe, connected relationships—and my goal is to create a space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported as you grow into who you are.

Adolescent & Teen Therapy

Parenting can be deeply rewarding—and incredibly challenging. Whether you're seeking guidance on supporting your child’s emotional development, navigating a new diagnosis, or building routines that work for your family, I offer practical, compassionate consultation tailored to your parenting goals. My background includes over 20 years of experience working with neurodiverse children and their families, which I draw upon as needed to support your unique journey.

Play therapy offers children a safe and engaging way to express themselves, explore emotions, and develop healthy coping skills—all through the language they know best: play. Using evidence-based techniques and a child-centered approach, I support children in processing difficult experiences, improving emotional regulation, and building confidence. My experience includes working with children of varying abilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

Adolescence is a time of growth, identity exploration, and emotional intensity. I work with teens to build self-awareness, manage anxiety or low mood, improve peer and family relationships, and strengthen coping strategies. My approach is relational, strengths-based, and inclusive of neurodivergent experiences, supporting each teen in discovering who they are and who they want to become.

Individual Therapy (In Person)

In-person therapy offers a grounded, face-to-face space where you can explore challenges, reconnect with your values, and work toward meaningful change. Whether you're facing anxiety, stress, trauma, or navigating life transitions, I offer a calm and supportive environment to help you build insight and resilience. My approach is adaptable for both neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals, with experience supporting clients of all ages and abilities.

Individual Therapy (Virtual)

Virtual therapy provides flexibility and accessibility, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your home. Through secure video sessions, we’ll work together to address challenges such as anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, or identity concerns. I strive to create a warm and collaborative space online—tailored to your goals—while integrating my experience with neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals across the lifespan.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can be beautiful and complex. Couples therapy is a space to explore communication patterns, repair connection, and build deeper understanding between partners. Whether you’re navigating conflict, life transitions, parenting differences, or neurodiverse dynamics, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment to help you grow together with more clarity and compassion.

Anxiety and Depression
Grief Therapy
Family Therapy

Whether you’re experiencing persistent worry, racing thoughts, sadness, or a sense of disconnection, therapy can offer you a space to slow down, gain clarity, and develop practical tools for relief. Together, we explore patterns, triggers, and internal narratives that may be keeping you stuck, while working toward emotional balance and resilience. My approach is warm and collaborative, drawing on a range of strategies tailored to your needs—including mindfulness, CBT, somatic practices, and trauma-informed care.

Grief can feel overwhelming, isolating, and deeply personal. Whether you're mourning the death of a loved one, a significant life change, or a shift in identity, you don't have to go through it alone. In grief therapy, we make space for your unique experience, explore the complexity of your emotions, and gently support the process of healing without pressure or timelines. Together, we work toward integrating the loss into your life story in a way that fosters growth, compassion, and resilience.

Behaviour & Skill-Building Support
School & IEP Consultation

Repair communication. Restore connection. Rebuild trust.
Families are dynamic systems, and when one part feels off, everyone feels it. Family therapy offers a safe and structured space to explore roles, boundaries, and long-standing patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection. Whether you're navigating transitions, intergenerational stress, or communication challenges, I support families in building deeper empathy, respectful dialogue, and greater harmony—while being sensitive to neurodivergence and developmental needs if present.

Navigating behavioural and emotional challenges can feel overwhelming—for both children and their families. My behaviour and skill-building services combine the structure and science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) with the insight and empathy of psychotherapy. I support children and teens in developing core skills such as emotional regulation, communication, social interaction, flexibility, and independence. Interventions are always individualized and trauma-informed, designed to meet the unique developmental and emotional needs of each child in a way that feels supportive—not punitive. Whether your child is neurodiverse or simply struggling with day-to-day coping, I help families build practical tools that foster growth, confidence, and connection.

Advocating for your child within the school system can be challenging—especially when navigating special education, IEPs, and classroom accommodations. With years of experience in both behavioural therapy and mental health, I offer school and IEP consultation services that bridge the gap between home, school, and therapeutic support. I collaborate with parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure your child's learning, emotional, and behavioural needs are clearly understood and effectively addressed. From reviewing and writing IEP goals to preparing for school meetings, I work with you to develop a plan that honours your child’s strengths and ensures they receive the support they need to thrive.
